Recent studies have shown that the high LDL levels that are identified through blood test after fasting does not reflect any variation to detect the risk of heart disease. Basically you can have normal diet and take the blood test to get the same results. Usually, doctors asks you to fast before the blood test in order to compare the results and have nothing to do with the universal understanding that fasting is actually required to predict such risks. Since, we are not at a fasting state all the time; the non-fasting results are more realistic than the later.
