7 Clever Google Maps Settings Everyone Should Be Using

A very few people will disagree that Google Maps is the best tool out there for what it does. It has become better and better over the years and now we tend to instinctively start using it for traffic and navigation purposes. However, even after using it practically almost every day, chances are you have not made the best use of some of the best features. Google Maps has a lot of hidden features but useful features. Let’s check them out.

7. Download maps for offline use

Assuming most of us living in areas with decent internet connectivity, we might travel and end up, intentionally or unintentionally, in remote places with less solid internet infrastructure.  Make sure you download maps for offline use if you are contemplating such travels. They will not have the up-to-date traffic data like we are normally used to but it is still worth it and far better than getting lost where you don’t know the palace at all.

To download maps, tap on the profile icon on the top right and then tap on Offline maps. A screen will appear with a button labelled SELECT YOUR OWN MAP. Tap on that, select the area which you want to download the offline maps for and then tap on the DOWNLOAD button. Google Maps will show how much space the offline maps will take on your phone and start the download.
