24. Blood is thicker than Water
It basically means that family comes before everything else. Blood rituals between men symbolized bonds that were greater than the bonds of a family back in the ancient Middle Eastern culture. ‘Blood brothers’ is also linked to this expression because it was said the soldiers who symbolically shared they blood they shed in battles had stronger bonds than biological brothers.
