3. Mangalayaan
Getting right on Mars at the first try seems completely impossible. Even the Russia or U.S failed to hit at the first place but guess what, India hit at the first hand. On 24th September 2014, India sent Mangalayaan (Hindi for Mars craft) developed by the Indian Space Research Organization, into orbit around the Red Planet. The craft cost India $74 million which is lesser than the budget for the movie Gravity. It is equipped with five onboard instruments and could perform simple tasks such as measuring surface and Martian methane. A great invention for an Asian country likes India and hence one of the best of space related sector in 2014.
