1. Bill Gates and the Dumb Dog Project
Bill Gates once punished lazy employees who took long lunch breaks by reassigning them to a little-known CD-ROM project called Microsoft Dogs. Developers had to meticulously gather facts on the proper methods of feeding and caring for over 500 different breeds of dogs. It was the company’s dunce cap. It was considered so unimportant and boring that they could threaten developers with the work for an extra bit of motivation.
