One thing pretty much can be guaranteed – being close-minded doesn’t make you likeable. Being open-minded sets you free of your own preconceived notions and beliefs, and that of societies too. No one likes to have a conversation with someone who has an opinion already. If you already have an opinion, you are not willing to listen or accept what others say to you.

You need to imagine yourself in people’s shoes if you want to let go of preconceived judgments. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to agree with their actions or share the same beliefs as they have, it simply means you hold off your judgment long enough to understand what makes them do the things they do.
