The biggest benefit meditation has to offer is increased immunity. A study carried out Ohio State University has shown that cancer patients who practised relaxation techniques had a reduced chance of getting relapses. Relaxation strengthens the body’s immune system, helping it fight disease and pathogens. It also gives the body a greater resistance against tumours and viruses. Some research has shown that meditation also helps delay the onset of symptoms of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
