This epidemic was named Mary Leito, a marine biologist. Her son complained that he felt bugs under his skin. As a result, his mother started to investigate this matter. Soon after, several hundred people started to complain the same thing saying they suffer from itching, burning sensation, memory loss and even tiny fibers on their skin. However, further research showed that the fibers were from cotton of the bandages and there were no bugs under their skin. So far it has been determined as a mental illness.
