1. Leroy Twitching Epidemic
In 2013, a cheerleader named Katie Krautwurst woke up from her sleep and started involuntarily twitching to the point where she bruised herself with her cellphone. Soon, this twitching spread to her best friend and gradually started to spread to the rest of the school, mainly girls. The story went viral and people started posting their symptoms online or in front of TV shows. At first it was thought to be chemical poisoning but it was discovered to be conversion disorder where people mimic the way others talk. People who did not post their symptoms online started to recover faster than those who did.
