7. The quality of life is not so great
The American system is very helpful for those with talent or intelligence. Anyone with extraordinary talent is sure to succeed. However, the same cannot be said for normal people. The trouble is, most Americans believe they are extraordinary. This shared delusion also keeps perpetuating large social inequalities and the quality of life for the average citizen lower than most other developed countries. It’s the price Americans pay to maintain their growth and economic dominance.
