4. Apple pie
Apple pies are a classic American dessert item, a symbol of patriotism and a comfort food all rolled into one. Interestingly, apple pies aren’t even American, but are originally from Macedonia, now known as Kazakhstan. The Romans first introduced apple pies to the English and they were then taken to America with the colonizers. In fact, pies were introduced to the rest of the world by the ancient Egyptians.
