6. Spider veins
A spider nevus is a small cluster of dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. It is also known as vascular malformation, telangiectasia, or angiofibroma. Spider nevi can occur anywhere on your body but they most often appear on your face and neck area. They are more common in women than men and usually start appearing around puberty or in middle age.
Spider veins are more common in people with liver problems. The liver is the organ that is responsible for detoxifying the blood, and when it becomes damaged, it can no longer do its job well. This leads to spider veins on the skin surface.
