3. Nitric Oxide (NO)
NO was popular among athletes as it was said to improve our training performance, muscle growth, and recovery through vasodilation. However, there’s a catch. Nitric oxide supplements actually include arginine and not nitric oxide. Arginine is naturally found in foods like spinach, sesame seeds, crab, shrimp, and white meat such as chicken and turkey. To top it off, there is no real evidence that points to the benefits of arginine. No can be obtained from a healthy diet and is found in red beets, spinach, and other leafy greens.
