4. Ginger
Often used in teas, this root has several medicinal properties that help with liver function. Researchers believe its compounds stimulate digestive secretions, improve intestinal muscle tone, and help move food through the gastrointestinal tract. It also has astringent properties. It helps with conditions such as fatty liver and can remove toxins and excess fat. It is best if it chewed raw, or boiled in water to make any sort of drink. Like turmeric, it also has some painkilling properties.
