4. Upright and open posture
First meetings and job interviews are places where you want to make a positive first impression. It is imperative that you pay attention to your body postures in such events. You should look relaxed and your posture should be straight if you are trying to convey confidence. You can try to do that by putting your head up and your shoulders back. This will make you appear calm and self-confident. A tensed and hunched posture gives the impression that you are insecure, nervous and shy.
Open posture means keeping your legs slightly apart. This open posture also applies to your arms. They suggest that you are relaxed, open and paying attention to what the other person is saying. The opposite to the open posture is the closed posture with arms and legs crossed. They denote the opposite.
