7 Ways to Boost your WiFi at Home

6. Choosing the best wireless channel

The home routers are set to choose the less congested wifi channel by default. This works fine in some cases. But in others, this can cause a drop in speed. This is how you can choose the best channel:

Log into your router. In most cases, this is 192.168.1.1. Go to the tab that says Wireless in your router settings. Enter your device’s access code to get in. Now, change the wifi channel. After changing the channel each time, run a speed test like speedtest.net or fast.com to test if you are getting the speed you are paying for. Test this for every room in your house.
