Folk 2. Acidic foods and Cast Iron pans are enemies.
Misconception: Acidic food might react with the skillet metal surface and turn out to be something poisonous.
Actual perception: Well, that’s the reason well seasoning it a must. Because when the food is being done, it comes in direct contact with the seasoning. Not the metal underneath. But there are some exceptions such as, at times you can see the bare metal as excess acidity leaves some spots empty getting off the seasoning. For this reason, excess acidity should be avoided. And a little of the acidic food won’t harm anything.
