9. Ask for the story backward
Ask suspects for descriptions in reverse chronological order, or backward in time. Choose a point of time and go “what happened before that?” Backward recall is easier for people who are telling the truth, and they give plenty of details.
While on the other hand, a liar says the exact same thing all the time; his stories are much simpler and lacking details. He makes up a story in his mind and decides to stick to it, and not make any alterations since then he may have to remember what he said the other time which may hamper is game.
