7. Body Language

According to a FBI veteran Joe Navarro who has a 25 year-old career practice, look for these non-verbal hints when you want to detect whether the person is lying:
- Lip Compression
- Ventilate deeply or loudly: SIGH!
- Touch the back of the neck
- Shifting in the chair, turning the face away, crossing the leg
- Swallow hard, tear up
- Sit still, no movement
A one very important body language that often goes unnoticed is the thumb finger on the liar’s hands; when he is lying he either hides his thumb or lowers it. Straight thumb indicates a territorial and committed behavior, while a crooked one shows the complete lack of it.
