When people who have no intention to lie are asked that why should you believe what they are saying, they often answer with “Because I am telling the truth”. Whereas a liar goes “If you do not believe me, then why bother?” or “I am an honest person” or “You do not have to believe what I am saying if you do not want to”, and such.
