Some special symptoms for Type 1 diabetes are:
1. Unexplained Weight Loss
Patients with Type 1 diabetes will notice a rapid change in their weight for no apparent reason. It mostly happens as a reaction of your body trying to get rid of all the extra glucose and you are not getting the sufficient amount of energy as you eat the food.
Symptoms of Type 1 diabetes include severe sensation of nausea and in most severe cases it can put you in a life-threatening situation called diabetic ketoacidosis. Your body produces ketones while burning fat and they are harmful to your stomach thus the nauseated reaction as a result.
There is this other type of Diabetes called the Gestational Diabetes, which only affects pregnant women. It doesn’t have any specific symptom so it is very important to get tested during pregnancy to know whether you are affected or not.
It is very important to get tested for diabetes if you are 45 years or older, or you have a genetic history of diabetes. If you spot any symptoms of diabetes it is necessary to get tested so other complications can be avoided.
