9. Coffee
Many people feel like the most natural thing to do when they wake up is to have a cup of coffee, but it’s not a very good idea. Research has shown that we can handle caffeine better if we drink coffee before a meal. Your body makes cortisol in the first hour after you wake up, and it’s important not to mess with this process or our natural biological rhythms.
So just wait a little while and enjoy your coffee. But keep in mind that it’s best to stick to the recommended daily amount of caffeine, and to avoid insomnia, don’t drink coffee in the evening.
