1. Loneliness
What do you do when you feel awkward or lonely while standing in a queue? Most take out their cell phones and browse away. You may not be realizing this, but this habit of turning to your cell phone is actually making you socially awkward and cutting off your ability to connect to people one-on-one. Gary Clayman, M.D., explains the situation: “When you’re so used to dealing with people online, interacting with them in the real world can make you feel off-kilter.”
Avoid this ‘disconnection’ simply by talking to people and putting your phones away for a while. Verbal communication is the best way of getting to know and socialize with people. Do not try to replace it with digital conversations.
It’s important to remember that cell phones are not life; just a part of it. So, don’t let it get the better of your health and spread the awareness in your circles too.
