1. Chia seeds
Even though chia seeds have a lot of omega-3s and have been marketed as a “superfood,” there is no evidence that they are good for your health, especially regarding heart disease. The omega-3 in chia seeds is harder to absorb than the omega-3 in salmon. Because of this, you would have to eat about 100 grams of chia seeds to get the same amount of omega-3 as you would from salmon. The catch is this: About 500 calories are in 100 grams of chia seeds. This is about the same as a fast-food hamburger.
