6. Attention and politeness
We all tend to think that small acts of kindness and paying attention aren’t that important. Relationships are often like a vicious circle: one person shows they are upset, the other person does the same, and it all leads to a big fight. In this case, a hug, a bouquet of flowers, a favorite chocolate bar, a good meal, or any kind of attention can help break the circle and ease the tension.
Getting someone’s attention and being nice won’t help if you caused them pain. But don’t give up on this strategy if things aren’t that bad yet.
