What we can see is due to our main source of sensory input, but there’s still so much we can’t see like our bodies being blasted by invisible waves that make our cell phone and Wi-Fi connection work only because they are outside the visible spectrum. Sometimes we can catch a glimpse, for example, people with aphakia, the absence of the lens on the eye, have reported the ability to see UV light. Another reason why the famous painter Claude Monet painted everything an unnatural blue color because late in life he underwent cataract surgery late and gained the ability to see UV light.

In 1983, in an experiment conducted, the researchers found out they could make volunteers actually see colors red-green and blue-yellow using specifically constructed striped images where one-half of an eye’s retinal cells could only see one color while the other saw the other.
