3. Some basic exercises
All experts agree that “spot toning” doesn’t really work, but the more active your muscles are, the more toned your body and face are. Even though we need more research to prove that facial exercises work, experts say that doing them won’t hurt you, even if the benefits haven’t been proven yet.
The best way to work out your face is to make a lot of intense faces, which you should do alone or in front of a mirror. People might look at you funny or laugh if you do them in public.
Here are some simple face exercises. If you have dry skin, make sure to use a moisturizer before you do.
1. Raise your face to the ceiling, alternately purse your lips, and open them wide in a silent scream. Do each for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times.
2. Stretch your lower jaw as far as you can until you feel the strain, and hold for 5 seconds—five to ten times.
3. Puff up your cheeks and hold for 5 seconds, then stick your tongue out for another 5 seconds. Do this five times.
