3. How to identify a papilloma
Papillomas are small bumps that hang from the surface of the skin. They can be white or brown. They are made up of loose collagen fibers and tiny holes in parts of the skin that are thicker. They usually show up on the neck, eyes, and places with friction, like the breasts, groin, or armpits.
What sets these structures apart from moles is how they were made. Moles can sometimes become cancerous cells, but papillomas almost always stay harmless.
