Human papillomavirus (HPV), which is a fairly common virus, causes another type of skin condition that isn’t a mole. This virus can spread through direct skin touch or through shared items like towels or washcloths. Most common warts don’t hurt and go away independently over time.
Most of the time, they show up on the fingers or hands. They are rough and often have a pattern of tiny black dots, which are tiny blood vessels that have stopped the blood. Others may show up on the bottoms of the feet and make walking uncomfortable.
