There are certain things in life that we cannot really control. One of them is frustration. Whenever things go wrong or don’t go the way it was planned we end up being frustrated. Frustration is such a thing that can make us waste valuable time and energy. You could argue that frustration can be good at times. It makes us think outside the box and come up with different solutions. However, there are times when frustration call kills you on the inside.. Some people deal well with frustrations but for those who don’t, listed below are 3 ways in which you can overcome frustration.
3. Stay in the present
A key aspect of frustration is that it takes you away in a different timeline. It makes you ponder what you are going to do in the future and how the “failed attempt” will affect your future. Similarly, frustration also makes you think about the past. It makes you question yourself as to why you did and what you could have done better. In short, it keeps on nagging you.
Snap out of the past and future time zone. Get back into the reality. What you do in the present is more important than what happened in the past or what will happen in the future. You can overcome this sort of frustration by doing two things. One of them is to control your breathing. Take longer breaths and inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. This calms down your body. Another thing to do is to focus on the things around you. Look at the scene out the window, the people around you. Concentrate on your surroundings to come back to the present.
