6. Habits affecting sleep
The things we do before bedtime profoundly affect the process of falling asleep. Gym workouts, running in the evening, rigorous physical activities in the evening or later – these things activate all processes in our body and as a result the body temperature increases. This causes a delay in the relaxation that the body needs before it can fall asleep. Hence the sleep becomes unstable. This is the reason why astronauts reduce physical activities and eating any heavy food before going to bed. What you can do is you can spend a few hours outside before sleeping. Don’t eat any heavy meals and do not do any physical exercise during this time. You should also not have a cup of coffee before going to bed.
