3. Sleeping environment
As we said, a space station goes through 16 sunrises a day. All space crew members have separate cabins without light. The light from the sunrises does not enter their room. This helps them prevent waking up because of the light. The more light gets inside a room, the higher the level of melatonin is, and the less a person wants to sleep. You can use earplugs and sleep masks in the room where you sleep if it is not dark or quiet enough. Also, make sure there’s adequate airflow in your room because stuffy rooms prevent proper sleep.
