5. Bagan, Burma
One of the greatest archaeological sites, filled with a sweet-sour smell of tamarind, soaked by Irrawaddy River and framed by the light grey of the distant mountains. It is a temple town with numerous traditionally styled pagodas, stupas and temples with ferocious stone lions and fascia woodcarvings on their doors, which have aged gracefully over the years and shines with the sunlight.
