2. Hvitserkur, North Iceland
Hvitserkur, a 15-m long monolith, resembles a giant animal, slightly like a large white dinosaur raising its head from the waters. But this monstrous rock is harmless and allows a large number of sweet little fulmars to nest on it, thus making it look white (Hvit means white). Legend has it that Hvitserkur was a troll which had a destructive purpose but instead got caught in the daylight and turned into a stone.
