You should take care of your mental health just as much as you do your physical health. It’s been really important in the last year to make sure that everything is all good on that front, too. The Huffington Post say that few are aware of the top 5 underdiagnosed mental health conditions and what can be done to identify them.

5. Depression

Depression is an illness that is not easily identifiable and can affect anyone. It is a chronic condition that can interfere with how people live their lives, feel, think, and act.

In the United States alone, 18.3 million adults are diagnosed with depression in a given year. In 2013-2014, about 2% of U.S. teens said they had experienced an episode of major depression in the past 12 months.

There are many different types of depression but all have common symptoms such as:

-Loss of interest or pleasure in activities

-Feeling down or blue

-Feeling worthless or guilty

-Lack of energy and motivation

-Difficulty sleeping (insomnia) or too much sleep (hypersomnia)
