Now, if you are wondering why this copper bedazzles are put into your jeans then you do have a valid question. No, they were not put there to sparkle up your pants. To know more about this, you have to travel back to a time called the 1820s. Back then miners used to complain about the fact that their pants would wear out very quickly after all the hours spent inside the mines. Now you cannot just ask these miners to go to work pantless. I mean, it would have been more relaxing for these miners and they could do with the extra breeze flowing through their bodies but that wouldn’t have looked good. So the jeans producing company came up with the idea of these copper “rivets”. Yes, they have a specific name too.
The idea is that these rivets keep your jeans from wearing out too easily. They ensure that there is no ripping at the seam and no sort of wear and tear. You could wear these jeans for as long as you want and they would still look as fresh as new ones. Well, probably not for the miners seeing how they would get them dirty. But at least these jeans with the newly added rivets would keep them from wearing out too soon. And you know something else about these rivets? Levi actually holds the patent to the rivets.
