We all had our parents yelling at us about eating more greens while growing up. So if we blend all our green vegetables and fruits into a smoothie then it is obviously good for the body, right? Wrong! It turns out turning everything into a liquid smoothie isn’t as healthy as advertised. Most of the sugar in your green smoothie comes from the fruit. When in liquid form, your body will process it differently. It will directly hit your bloodstream, thereby giving you a blood sugar spike. That can be very bad for your health. On the other hand, when consuming liquid, you feel less satisfied and therefore you end up eating more. So that’s like twice the calories when you eat again.
