1. Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Norway
This last location on the list is also the coolest: both figuratively and literally. The seed vault is just 800 miles away from the North Pole. The facility has been built to preserve seeds: almost every type of seed this planet has to offer has been preserved in it. This has been done to revive species of plants just in case a disaster of a massive scale wipes out botanic diversity from the earth. The vault functions like a regular bank in the sense that governments can send rare plants seeds to be kept safe in this safety vault. The 11,000 square-foot facility looks like a structure right out of science fiction and is only accessible to the people who work in it.
