Swimming or doing water aerobics in a warm pool relaxes the muscles. Swimming is a very gentle way to stretch leg muscles, especially if other forms of exercise cause you to cramp when stretching. Many RLS sufferers are elderly and may have arthritis or other conditions that keep them from other forms of exercise. Everyone can swim. At the same time, you’re getting a cardio workout that’s good for your overall health.
