6. Sleeping Sickness in Kazakhstan
Since 2013, a tiny town in Kazakhstan called Kalachi has been experiencing their version of sleeping sickness. However, it is not connected to Encephalitis. The people living there mysteriously fall asleep and then wake up a few days later with nausea, headaches and with no memory of the last few days. Over 20,000 tests have been conducted on the air, food and water of that area but no results have been found. As of now, there have been 215 cases to be reported.
