3. Legumes
Legumes include beans, lentils and various kinds of peas. They aren’t just rich in proteins and vitamins, but also soothe constipation and the cramps that accompany them. Legumes are rich in fibre too and most nutritionists advise having half a cup of lentils or beans every day to fight constipation. They are best eaten in soups, stews or curries. However, having too much of these can cause diarrhoea or gas, which is just as unpleasant as constipation.
