One American Journal of Clinical Nutrition study found that eating more nuts, including peanuts, can help with inflammation. A C-reactive protein is made in your liver and sent to your bloodstream. It goes up when your body is inflamed, and eating nuts was linked to a lower level of this protein. Peanuts were related to lower tumor necrosis factor receptor 2, which makes cells more prone to inflammation.
Peanuts also have a lot of Arginine, an amino acid that helps build muscle. Biomedical engineers at Duke University say that building muscle can help with the long-term damage caused by chronic inflammation.
