6. Another name
Burger King was forced to call its sandwich another name because a chain called “Whopper Burger” had rights to the name “Whopper” in San Antonio. So BK was prohibited from doing business there for several years. And when they could operate, they had to name its sandwich “Deluxe” instead. Reportedly, the dispute was settled in 1983 when the owner of the Whopper Burger passed away.
