2, Manhunt for Umbrella man
Another absolutely stupid security issue occurred in the City of Olympia, Washington. Apparently there was a call from a teenage girl who claimed to have seen a man wearing a ski mask, carrying a rifle down the street. As a result, the local police department went on a citywide manhunt for a man with a rifle. They even shut down three schools in the area of safety measures. The authorities spent hours searching for the person and in the end their chopper identified the suspect. Except the suspect was an ordinary man wearing a turtleneck top carrying an umbrella. The chopper followed him everywhere till the man went home. What followed was the pure embarrassment for the authorities as they ended up knocking down the door of an innocent man. The local PD later said it was a training drill to avoid further embarrassment.
