6 Types of Acne and What Might Cause Them

Papules are inflammatory acne that appears under the skin’s surface. The skin around the lesions is often red and inflamed. They are pink, elevated, solid, and sensitive. They don’t have a noticeable core and aren’t as broad as the other two forms of noninflammatory acne.

Causes:

  • Infection of the skin (Molluscum contagiosum)
  • The formation of tiny blood vessels (cherry angioma)
  • Eczema
  • Warts
  • Allergic response
