3. On your side
Sleeping on your side is like sleeping in a fetal position, but your legs aren’t pulled toward your chest. It’s good for you to sleep on your side, either in the log, thinker, or pillow hugger positions, because it can help you stop snoring, ease heartburn, and help you digest.
But there are some bad things about this position that you should know about. It can make your shoulders stiff and your jaw tight on the side you sleep on. If you sleep on your side, you should sleep on your left side instead of your right side. Sleeping on your right side could make heartburn and acid reflux worse.
If you have pain in your lower back, the pillow hugger position may be best for you. Putting a pillow between your legs will help your hips line up better, reducing your lower back pain.
