6. A Polish girl who grew up in a concentration camp scribbles a picture of “home”
Children are always the biggest victims in a war. After World War II, many children were orphaned or displaced. Traumatized children were put in special homes. Tereska was raised in a concentration camp, a victim of the Holocaust and placed in one of these homes after the camps were liberated. She was asked to draw a picture of ‘home’. Her concept of home is warped, almost nonexistent, as is seen in her endless scribbles and empty eyes.
