7. You Catch the ‘Low-Carb Flu’
When you cut down on carbs, it results in dry mouth, bad breath, tiredness, weakness, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, brain fog, and you feel like you have the flu. This happens because the brain’s main source of energy is a carbohydrate, so when you cut down on that, your brain starts running on fumes, and the glycogen stored gets low or depleted. When the glycogen is gone, the body starts breaking down fat and runs off ketones which are carbon fragments.
